Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry at First Methodist Church is called “Absolute Truth” and is simply put, God’s Word, the Bible. We believe the Bible is God’s “absolute truth” for us all, meaning, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT) Our aim is to produce youth who love God and who understand the need of belonging to and being involved in a Bible believing church. We do so by training youth not in the way they would go, but in the way they should go as the Word of God would have them go. It all begins with the preaching and teaching of God’s Holy Word that will lead every youth to a decision of whether they want a relationship with Jesus Christ. The youth ministry includes a Wednesday night program during the school year, outings throughout the year, and a mission trip during the summer. The youth are involved in missions throughout the year and actively serve the church, the community and beyond.
